Interim Supply Chain Manager

Interim Supply Chain Manager for a company producing advanced mechatronics for the semi-con industry (cleanroom):

  • Manager of a team of three production planners, two material planners and two tactical buyers

  • Tasked to design and implement the new supply chain processes and organisation to be prepared for the expected growth

  • Managed a capacity crisis while improving the various supply chain processes:

    • Design of an improved analytic tool to give insights in the mid-long term and long term of the (im)balance between supply and demand. This tool is now used in the various processes to support decision making

    • Implementation of an S&OP process

    • Design of the new organisation structure for the Supply Chain department

    • Design of a planning drumbeat, aligning the monthly, weekly and daily planning activities, and defining clear roles and responsibilities for the production planners

    • Initiation of two improvement initiatives that will improve the predictability of production, and thus the reliability of the planning process:

      • Project “Routing” will ensure the Factory Engineers will design the optimal product flow on the shopfloor

      • Capacity planning in IFS, giving insights in the abilities of the current planning system, and the master data that need to be set up to make full use of the available capabilities, and move away from Excel
